7 Best Hair Oils For Kids – Children Hair Oil Review 2020

-Best Hair Oil for Kids

As a qualified hairdresser, I know that children’s hair needs special care given its unique characteristics that make it different from adults. Their tresses are often soft and weak as they are still in the early stages of growth, this makes their hair susceptible to damage if not properly treated, especially with repeated exposure to external factors such as dirt, sunlight, and sweat secretions.

As children’s hair produces lower levels of natural oils, experts recommend using nutritious and natural oils, including almond oil and olive oil, to nourish and maintain their hair’s health and vitality.

Seeking to meet the growing demand for natural products that are safe to use on our children, aspire to present you with a wide selection of natural essential hair oil for kids offering effective solutions for the treatment, nourishment, growth and protection of our children’s hair.

So today we would like to showcase in no particular order:

The Top 7 Best Oils For Children’s Hair:

Dabur Amla Kids Hair Oil

Dabur Amla Kids hair oil is 100% natural and completely free of paraffin to ensure that children are not exposed to chemicals that may lead to hair damage or scalp allergies. It’s highly reliable as clinical studies have confirmed its effectiveness in strengthening the roots, promoting growth & moisturising children’s hair

How to use:

Just thoroughly massage into the scalp for a min of 10 minutes -1 hour before a bath.

Dabur Amla Kids hair oil is easy to use, apply & wash out, in addition to having a pleasant long lasting fragrance.

Amla oil is the key ingredient, which penetrates the scalp & nourishes the hair from the roots; also contains olive oil, which keeps the hair follicles strong & almond oil, which softens the hair follicles & keeps the hair shiny.

Organic Moroccan Argan Oil

Pure Triple virgin organic Moroccan Argan Oil

The use of oils for hair growth date back many, many centuries, and for good reason. These oils help promote healthy hair growth, repair damaged hair, stop breakage, and often soothe a dry, itchy scalp.

Among these oils, we find Moroccan Argan Oil. Organic triple virgin Argan oil is rich in essential fatty acids, anti-oxidants, vitamin E and it benefits the hair by keeping hair moisturised and nourished. Argan Oil is known to penetrate the pores of the hair follicles, and for increasing the hair’s elasticity. It also strengthens the weakened hair strands and adds shine. This 100% natural liquid gold has miracle properties that promote stronger, softer & manageable hair.

How to use:

There are many ways to use Argan Oil for your hair depending on the reason and results you are using it for, for soothing and reducing itchy, dry scalp applies and gently massage onto yours or your child’s scalp. For softer, shinier more manageable hair & strength, apply and smooth over the strands from root to tip, this can be kept in as a leave-in conditioner or for a few hours as a conditioning mask before washing out or even used as a detangling lotion/spray. Another excellent use for Argan Oil on hair is to gently scrunch onto any dry ends or wipe over any breakage flyaways after styling. This will create a smoother softer look, more defined curls or a much sleeker finish. Argan oil is also natural heat protection from both the sun and mechanical devices.

One of my favourite brands of pure Argan Oil is Silk Oil Of Morocco, all their products are of the highest quality and come in a selection of sizes.

Organic Pure Olive Oil

Natural oils are often miracle elixirs for every hair type out there. For Centuries Olive oil has been one of the most popular and traditional oil used for hair as well as baby’s skin.

Olive Oil is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and vitamin E. It benefits hair by moisturizing and nourishing the hair, it repairs split ends and helps in restoring hair shine and vitality.

How to use:

Olive Oil as well as Argan Oil are both perfect natural substitutes to branded children’s de-tangling lotions and sprays. They both help facilitate easy combing and styling with no tears while providing the scalp with all the essential elements needed for healthy happy hair.

I usually stock up on my organic virgin Olive oil when I’m in Morocco as it’s much cheaper to purchase when you bulk buy there and you know it’s the real deal. However, there have been many occasions though where I’ve found myself needing it in the UK and I’ve grown very fond of the Naissance (no. 223) range that is all Certified Organic and 100% Pure.

Natural Almond Oil

Almonds have been valued in many ancient cultures for their healing and health properties, including high levels of protein. Almond oil is rich in essential fatty acids, vitamin E, potassium and magnesium.

There are 2 kinds of almond oils — bitter and sweet. The bitter oil is extracted after pressing bitter almonds. They contain amygdalin that turns into toxic hydrocyanic acid after processing (1). Despite its medicinal properties, bitter almond oil cannot be ingested. This oil can be used for topical application only. Whereas, sweet almond oil is made from edible almonds. This oil is used extensively for skin & hair as well as culinary purposes too.

It benefits hair by promoting growth & strength, sealing in moisture and shine.

How to use:

Rinse your Child’s hair and comb it out, Almond oil absorbs perfectly into wet hair.

Heat up the almond oil to a safe usable temperature and rub it into your Childs scalp.

You can use a wide-toothed comb to disperse the oil throughout the hair or use your fingers depending on your Childs hair type.

You can then cover your Childs hair for a preferred amount of time and let them play until shampooing their hair out in the bath.

Rinse and dry their hair as normal and try to repeat this process at least once a week for best results.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is rich in vitamin E, vitamin K, protein, fatty acids and iron. It benefits hair by moisturising and sealing the hair follicle, preventing hair breakage, boosting hair growth, promoting shiny, silky hair, improving scalp health and hair strength.

It’s also good to use on your baby if they suffer from cradle cap or children and toddlers with a dry, flaky scalp. Regular use will prevent and eliminate dandruff in addition to relieving the dryness and inflammation of the scalp and skin.

Cradle cap or dry scalp is a condition that affects many newborns during the early weeks after birth. The condition is characterised by a flaky scalp and seems like your little one has dandruff. The condition is prominent around the area of the baby’s head that touches the cot the most. Coconut oil can work wonders in this situation.

How To Use Coconut Oil For Cradle Cap

  • Massage some coconut oil on your baby’s scalp, in particular on the area that is affected by cradle cap.
  • Let the oil stay on for 20 minutes and then use a baby comb or baby hairbrush with very soft bristles to brush off the flakes.
  • Once you have brushed off the flakes, you can rinse your baby’s hair with lukewarm water.

When your baby is born, the hair may be soft and silky, but sometimes, dry and unmanageable hair can develop. It can be difficult to comb your baby’s hair, which can also further add to your baby’s dry hair woes. Use coconut oil to obtain smooth and healthy hair.

How To Use Coconut Oil To Smooth Hair

  • Wet your Childs hair during bath time and apply a small amount of coconut oil evenly onto the hair.
  • Alternatively, you can also massage coconut oil into your Childs scalp and hair at night and wash it off in the morning.

Castor Oil

Castor oil is made from the seeds of the Ricinus communis plant. Although it’s most commonly used as a laxative, castor oil’s natural antiviral & antimicrobial properties make it a popular treatment for skin problems as well as fungal infections. But it’s also perfect for hair growth, nails and eyelashes.

Keep your princesses hair beautifully moisturised with Castor Oil which is rich in Omega-6 fatty acids and Vitamin E. It’s excellent for strengthening the hair strands and boosting hair growth.

It increases blood flow to the scalp and prevents hair breakage. Castor oil also helps in eliminating dandruff and eczema by soothing dry, itchy scalp and skin.

How to use:

A good tip for an amazing hair mask is to mix some castor oil with an equal amount of coconut oil in a bowl and apply the mix gently to dry hair. Massage the scalp well for at least five minutes. Spread the oil mix thoroughly into the hair and put on a shower cap. Keep the hair mask on for at least two hours before washing it off.

Jojoba Oil

An extract from the seeds of the Jojoba tree, it is known for the benefits it provides to the skin as well as hair. It is one of the best hair oil for kids. Jojoba oil enhances conditioning to the hair, leaving it with better strength, shine, softness and manageability.

Although jojoba oil is not yet known to stimulate hair growth or prevent hair loss, it is known to be very helpful in treating dry scalp and dandruff issues as well as eczema and psoriasis.

How to use:

Apply to the hair above the scalp, and work down evenly to hair tips. Leave in for about 20 minutes and then shampoo, condition, and rinse. Avoid direct application to the scalp to avoid clogged pores. If applying for dry scalp or dandruff, add very little directly to the skin (about 1–2 drops).
